Weekend at PaPa's

Well, I have finally reached a point where I could slow down and update this thing. Things have been pretty busy for me lately with Isaac being sick, us going out of town, and learning a lot of new things at work. I'm in the process of learning our payroll system, which is HUGE. I'm excited though because eventually, payroll as well as the rest of things that are HR related, will be mine. It's a lot of responsibility, but definitely something I'm looking forward to. They are probably sending me to some training sometime in the coming months. It will be a week long deal and I'm trying to get Darren to go with me so we can take Isaac. It will either be to San Antonio or Las Vegas. I think either one would be fun, but Darren is all about Vegas!! I hope it works out that he can go though because I can't imagine being away from my baby for a whole week!
Anyway, last weekend, we took a trip to middle TN to visit PaPa Murf and MaMa Hope. We got in kind of late Friday night, but Isaac had slept a lot on the road so he was raring to go! Saturday morning, me and Hope got up and headed into M'boro for my step-sister Amanda's baby shower. I met several new faces and we all had a pretty good time. She got lots of nice things for little Callie Grace, who is due to make her grand debut in about 3 weeks! While we were gone to the shower, Isaac stayed with DaDa and PaPa Murf and PaPa's friend Sperry. They stayed behind to do "man stuff", which consisted of them shooting guns and having target practice. Isaac had a big time just playing outside with them and they couldn't have asked for a better day. Saturday night, we all went back to the Boro and ate dinner at Olive Garden. Yummy!!! Sunday morning, we all slept in some and just hung around the house and played until about lunchtime, which is when we hit the road headed back to Savannah. We had such a good time visiting and the weather was just wonderful! I am SO ready for spring and I know Isaac is too. He's definitely an "outdoorsy" kind of guy and is much more mobile and stable than he was this time last year so this will definitely be a fun spring and summer. Here are some photos from our weekend.....

As you can tell just from these last 2 photos, Isaac and PaPa had a very big time together! We love you PaPa and we'll see you again soon!

Almost Friday....

Finally, my little man is well once again. He has a little bit of a runny nose, but after being in the hospital and all, that is a piece of cake! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I was so glad to be home and I know Isaac was too. The hospital is definitely no place to be, especially with a little one! This has been a pretty uneventful week so far, which is perfectly fine with me. We are planning a trip to the Boro this weekend to stay with PaPa Murf and MaMa hope and also attend my step-sister Amanda's baby shower. I'm sure we will take tons of photos while we are there and I will gladly share them when we return. Here are just a couple of his latest. I know I haven't posted any in awhile, but as you can tell, he's just getting so big so fast. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast!!!

This is one of my new favorites. He has finally gotten to where he will look at you and actually smile when he knows he's going to get his picture made. This was taken last Saturday, just one day after we got out of the hospital and as you can tell, he was feeling SO much better. A happy baby definitely means a happy Mommy!!!

Quick update

Just wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We got discharged from the hospital today around lunch time and are now at home resting. Isaac is so much better!! We're still on some meds, but our old Isaac is back and I'm so thankful. We'll update more later. Just wanted you to know we were home and to thank you for the prayers because they definitely work!

Prayers are needed......

Well, Isaac had a rough night last night. He's been doing good with the breathing treatments, but yesterday evening we just couldn't seem to get his temp down. It was 103 around 6:00 and a dose of tylenol had no effect on him at all. Around 10:00, we gave him a dose of motrin and that seemed to help some. He was giggling and talking and playing some so I thought that was a good sign. He woke up when I did this morning saying "Juice MaMa" so I went and got his cup. I felt of his head and he was burning up. I checked his temp and it was 104. Luckily, he was due back at the doctor anyway for a recheck this morning. They did a flu test and it was negative. Then he got a shot of rocephin and was sent to the hospital for a chest x-ray and some bloodwork. After all was done, it was just determined that he had severe RSV and not pneumonia. We made the decision to have him admitted to the hospital here in hopes that he will get better faster than if we just cared for him at home. This is very scary to me and I can only imagine how scary it's going to be for him. Please keep us in your prayers tonight and hopefully I will have good news soon.....

I jinxed myself....

Well, I guess I should have known better. In my last post, I was so excited because Isaac had been well for awhile now. That was Saturday morning before nap. When he woke up from his nap, he started coughing and it sounded pretty croupy. We've dealt with the croup before and that's all I thought it was. Besides, there's not much you can do about a sick child on a Saturday afternoon. He coughed all night long Saturday, most of the day Sunday, and most of Sunday night too. So, first thing this morning I give the doc a call and see if they can get him in. Meanwhile, Ms. Michelle said he fell asleep before lunch and was coughing pretty hard the whole time he was asleep. Darren went and got him a little after 3:00 to carry him in and I asked him to call me when they got out. Well, when 5:00 rolled around and I was ready to leave work and still hadn't heard anything, I got worried so I called him on his cell phone. Imagine my surprise when he told me Isaac had strep throat and RSV!!! They gave him a penicillin shot while he was there and we are now using a breathing machine for at least the next week. We go back to the doc Wed. morning for them to check and evaluate him. Please say an extra prayer for my little guy that he gets well soon!

Feelin' pretty good.....

For once, I don't have any photos to share. Guess you could say I'm slacking, huh? I do actually have a few, but I haven't had a chance to upload them yet. Anyway, things here have been pretty good lately. Isaac is finally well and (knock on wood), has been feeling pretty good for the past couple of weeks. Last weekend, we went to Carthage to spend the weekend with Grandma and Uncle Patrick. We had such a good visit, but then again, we always do!! Wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll definitely be back soon. Darren is at work today and me and Isaac are just hanging out right now. Uncle Derek, Aunt Jill, Jakob, and Ethan are supposed to be coming this afternoon so Isaac will have a big time playing with Jakob. A friend of a friend (Susan) had her baby this week. Congrats Susan, he's a little cutie!! Hope you're both doing well. Anyway, I'll try and update more sometime tomorrow. I'll probably have some photos of the boys playing, but I can't make any promises. Have a good weekend all and we'll be back soon....

Here we go again....

I kind of feel like I might be on a roll here!! I know it hasn't been long since my last posting, but I figured since I had the time, why not go ahead and post some more!! Here are just a couple of shots from the past few days. As you know, little Isaac hasn't had much in the hair department so far, but he does have some!! He's 19 months old now and not even close to a first hair cut, but we are making progress!!!

Me, Isaac and his MiMi went shopping the other day and Isaac was just the best little shopper!! We've taught him well! Anyway, when we got back, he found PawPaw's hat and about that time, Daddy came in from hunting and this spur of the moment shot is actually a very cute one!

Anyway, for those of you that pay attention to detail, you might wonder how in the world I have time to post this at 4:20 or so in the afternoon on a Tuesday. Yes, once again, my little man is feeling under the weather so Mommy stayed home with him today. It all started on Sunday. I didn't notice any symptoms, other than he was pretty whiny most of the day and for Isaac, this is not the norm at all. We had to wipe his nose a couple of times, but nothing really major at all. He didn't sleep well at all Sunday night and after about an hour and a half in his bed, he was up crying, wanting in our bed. He slept pretty good from that point on. In fact, he was sleeping so good I hated to wake him the next morning, but I had to. When he finally opened his eyes, I noticed that one was matted shut. Me, being the optimist that I am, just wiped it with a warm wet rag and thought it would be fine from then on. I dosed him with some meds to help his nose and off he went to Ms. Michelle's. Well, not long after I got to work, I heard from her and she said his nose had been pouring all morning and his eye was really watery and at times, goopy too. Also he had been coughing some so once again, we're off to the doctor. He has a sinus infection that made its way to his eye so we're on antibiotics, eye drops, antihistamine, cough medicine, and tylenol/motrin. I feel like my child is a walking medicine cabinet!! I kept him home today to let the antibiotics get in his system some. He also had a fever most of the morning, but since his nap, he's been fine. Personality wise, he's been his normal self today. I've just had to wipe his eye and his nose several times. I at least got a smile for the photo below though and you can definitely notice his swollen eye.

Hopefully tomorrow he will feel much better than today....
